It’s POPS week at the Brevard Symphony Orchestra!

As a longtime movie fan, I always look forward to Awards Season at this time of year.  We just had the Golden Globes Awards and are a few weeks away from the Academy Awards ceremony.  In honor of Awards Season, your Brevard Symphony Orchestra presents The Envelope, Please – a concert featuring award-winning music from Hollywood and Broadway along with great music that garnered Emmy and Grammy Awards – we have a fantastic program planned for you!

We’ll be joined by one of my favorite singers, Broadway star Susan Egan!  Susan is a Tony Award nominee and has enjoyed an amazing career in film, television, theatre, in the recording studio and on concert stages around the world.  Susan originated the role of Belle in the Broadway production of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast (the role for which she received the Tony and Drama Desk nomination), and also starred in the Broadway productions of Cabaret and Thoroughly Modern Millie.   She has a tremendous voice and a captivating stage presence – I know you’ll love her performance!

Musical highlights from this program include Susan’s renditions of songs from Funny Girl, Cabaret, Beauty and the Beast, Wicked and Titanic – and the BSO performs selections from Les Miserables, Dances With Wolves, the famous Mission: Impossible Theme and much more!  We’re looking forward to presenting this spectacular program that truly features something for everyone!
