The Summer Evenings Series is new for 2019. These intimate chamber music concerts, presented by the Brevard Symphony Orchestra, offer three diverse programs, featuring Bach to Broadway, Lady Gaga to Vivaldi. Scroll down to read about each program.

The Summer Evenings Series concerts will take place on Saturday evenings at 7 pm at the Suntree United Methodist Church. The concerts in this series will be General Admission with no assigned or reserved seating.

SOVEREIGN BRASS: BRASS TO BROADWAY | Saturday, June 29, 2019 at 7 pm

Florida-based Sovereign Brass has enjoyed a wide and enthusiastic following since it was founded in 1994. Comfortable in all styles from pop to Baroque, these virtuoso musicians present thrilling performances with a light-hearted edge.

WONDER WOMEN OF THE MUSIC WORLD | Saturday, July 27, 2019 at 7 pm

Performers include: Joni Hanze, violin | Brenda Higgins, cello | Helena Vocal Ensemble

Only 1.8% of the music being played on symphony orchestra stages is composed by women. But on this night, these talented women will flood the stage with music from many of the Wonder Women of the Music World. Join them for an entertaining evening of the lush music of Amy Beach, the picturesque music of Gwyneth Walker, the blues of Billie Holiday, songs of the musical chameleon Lady Gaga, and more talented composers and songwriters.

NOVA BAROQUE: VIVALDI’S VENICE | Saturday, August 24, 2019 at 7 pm

Performers include: Maria Luisa Coppelli, oboe | Sasha Korczynski & Bethany Confessore, violins | Carl Kerner, viola | Adriana Stenvik, cello | Steve Britton, host & narrator

The Nova Baroque Ensemble pays tribute to Vivaldi and his contemporaries in this historically informed performance. Wearing beautiful Baroque period costumes and powdered wigs, Nova Baroque will perform an assortment of commanding concertos by Italian masters of strings. Take a step back in time and experience the aristocratic splendor of 17th and 18th century Italy.
