Brevard Symphony Orchestra announces 71st Season

Featuring New Pops Series and Celebrating 30 Years with Christopher Confessore

The Brevard Symphony Orchestra (BSO) is proud to announce its 2024-2025 Season titled “Starry Nights,” which celebrates 30 wonderful years of Christopher Confessore at the BSO podium. This season also introduces our first-ever Pops Series at the Maxwell C. King Center for the Performing Arts in Melbourne, Florida. Our season is comprised of a five-concert classical Signature series, a three-concert Pops series, a three-concert Matinee series, a three-concert Summer Evenings chamber music series, our free July 4th Symphony Under the Stars, and our annual Free Family Concert Lights, Camera, Symphony!

Featured guest artists for the Signature series include violinist Hina Khuong-Huu performing Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto, pianist Sasha Kasman Laude performing Piano Concerto No. 23, and organist Andrew Galuska Saint-Saen’s Symphony No. 3. The BSO is thrilled to welcome back the Brevard Symphony Youth Orchestra (BSYO) for a side-by-side with Grieg’s Symphonic Dance No. 1, and the Brevard Community Chorus with Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9, also known as Ode to Joy.

The BSO is proud to announce our new Pops series. While it is far from the first time the BSO has performed Pops concerts, this three-concert series accommodates a variety of tastes outside classical music.  Featured guests for these concerts include Pops vocalist and Sinatra stylist Michael Andrew, ‘70s singer-songwriter duo AJ Swearingen and Jayne Kelli, and two veteran Broadway vocalists to be announced.

The Summer Evenings series features the musical groups Sunshine Time, Confetti, and the Luminoso Quartet. These chamber music concerts bring a more relaxed and intimate vibe and are the perfect way to end a summer evening. Concerts take place at 7:00 p.m. at Suntree United Methodist Church.

The Brevard Symphony Orchestra is the only fully professional orchestra in Brevard County and is home to many of Central Florida’s finest classical musicians.
