Join us for our fourth concert, Celebrating 100 Years of Rhapsody in Blue

100 years ago, American composer George Gershwin sat on stage and premiered one of his most well-known compositions, Rhapsody in Blue. This piece combined classical music with jazz elements. He wrote the piece in 5 weeks, even improving his own piano solo during the actual premiere.

This concert will also include the Florida premiere of Rhapsody in Red, White, and Blue, a new work by Peter Boyer that pays homage to the original 100 years later. This work is aiming to be premiered in each state in the United States, and is currently at 49/50 states! This will be the second time the piece is played in Florida, and the first time it’s been played in Central Florida!
