Welcome, Maestro Gregory Buchhalter, joining us for our annual 4th of July Symphony Under the Stars!
Guest Conductor, Gregory Buchalter
Gregory Buchalter currently holds the title of Music Director and Conductor of both Varna International and Vero Beach Opera and is in high demand as a guest conductor throughout the world. Maestro Buchalter has conducted the South Florida Symphony, the Charleston Symphony and internationally he recently made his debut with the Cyprus Symphony Orchestra and conducted performances of the Verdi Requiem throughout Italy. He conducted a Brahms concert of the Violin Concerto and First Symphony with Ilya Kaler at Varna International this past season. He has received rave reviews for his frequent appearances at the Florida Grand Opera where he has recently conducted a Streetcar Named Desire, Tosca and Pagliacci. He has conducted with Opera Orlando, Mobile Opera, Amarillo Opera and the New England Conservatory of Music. He has conducted Salome at the Savonlinna Opera Festival, Die Fledermaus at the Vienna Volksoper, Mozart’s Entführung aus dem Serail at the Spoleto Festival, Cosi fan Tutte with the Mediterranean Opera Festival in Italy, Eugene Onegin with the New Opera World Festival in Moscow, Don Giovanni in Belgrade and many operas at Varna International including the Bulgarian premieres of Candide and Kurt Weil’s Street Scene.
Maestro Buchalter was Music and Artistic director of Opera Fairbanks and Opera Las Vegas. For many seasons he was a Cover Conductor and the Maestro di Banda at the Metropolitan Opera.
Upcoming are summer performances with Varna International, a July 4th concert with the Brevard Symphony and return engagements with Vero Beach Opera, Mobile Opera and Amarillo opera this coming season.
